On a run this morning, I was reflecting on how I used to dislike running and thought I wasn't good at it. I would find myself out of breath after a few minutes and quickly lost energy and motivation. Now, I love it! Getting outside first thing in the morning, startling rabbits and hearing birds (a cuckoo today!), and seeing the changes in the scenery (the verges are full of ox-eye daisies at the moment) sets me up for a creative day. I have made this shift by realising that I didn't need to run so fast. By slowing down, and running at a pace that is right for me, I can keep going. I also appreciate the beauty of nature around me more fully.
